Emma Redley

I began my career in the property industry in 2003, starting as a sales negotiator for a corporate agent in Northampton. I fell in love with the industry and worked across both corporate and independent estate agents across Northamptonshire, Leicestershire, Staffordshire & Shropshire, in roles from negotiator, to valuer, to management. I found my true passion lay in the post sales process, and after being Sales Progression manager for an independent agent with five branches, I joined a MuveFirst Conveyancing as a Business Development Manager, working with estate agents & mortgage brokers. I was privileged enough to attend a Women in Residential Property event on mental health & wellbeing and the importance of it in the workplace, and it really hit a note within me that more needs to be done to allow this kind of support to reach more women locally to myself. I am incredibly excited and passionate about creating a safe forum for women to voice their feelings, concerns and ambitions in an arena where they will be heard and supported.

Sarah Dwight

I qualified as a solicitor in 1990, and throughout my career, I have been focussed on trying to make the house moving experience better for all those involved.

I established my own practice, dealing exclusively with residential conveyancing in April 2000 and  have seen many changes in how conveyancing is done together with changes in the market.   Even with all of these changes over the years, my core belief remains that solicitors are at the heart of the house moving process and  have a crucial role in making sure that the public receive good advice at a stressful time.  However, it is important for conveyancers to work with other professionals, including estate agents, surveyors, mortgage brokers and removal companies.

Many of those within the legal  /house moving world are still male, and I have always thought that  women perhaps have more empathy for those who are experiencing something stressful  which touches on all parts of their lives  – and it is women  who tend to deal with house moves for a family, and still have all of the other day to day family things to deal with.

For the last  twelve years, I have been a member of the Law Society Conveyancing and Land Law Committee, heading the Residential Property sub group.  I have been involved in the redrafting of the Protocol Forms (Fittings and Contents form and Property Information Form)  and led the group which drafted the new edition of the Protocol.    I am the joint author of the CQS Tool Kit .  I am an Editor of the Law Society Conveyancing Handbook.  All of this means that I am aware of  law and procedure within the conveyancing procedure and have access to the most up to date regulations and requirements.

I have spoken at many Law Society conferences and  am a regular contributor to the Law Society Property Section Property in Practice magazine.  I have been quoted in  articles in The Times, The Financial Times, and other media .  Finally, I sit on the Government Home Buying and Selling  Group which is reviewing the way in which house buying is carried out.   I lead the Education Group for the Home Buying and Selling Group which writes the How to Buy and How to Sell Guides.   .
